Photo beams are commonly used in two locations on swing gates: just beyond the closed position and just past the end of the gate’s swing. On slide gates, they are typically placed alongside the gate. The beams function much like those on a garage door opener, if the beam is broken while the gate is moving, the system will stop to prevent further movement and potential damage.
